I'm such a slacker
Sorry! I know I've been an incredible slacker this past week, but I either have nothing to talk about, or I'm so busy that I don't have time to write.
Let's see....last week as a whole was uneventful. Friday started my fun. Friday night I went over to the family's house where my son is staying while my husband teaches summer camp. They invited Brandon and I to their neighborhood pool. So we suited up and went swimming for the afternoon. At first, Brandon was really scared of the water, but he quickly warmed up to it and was soon having a great time splashing around and playing with the other kids. I'm hoping by the end of the summer he'll be pretty comfortable in the water, so I won't have to worry so much about him playing in it.
Saturday morning I did my normal grocery shopping routine, and then fenced epee in our home tournament in the afternoon. I wasn't feeling all that well, so I'm sure you can imagine my surprise when I went 6 and 1 in my pool. I ended up being the #1 seed going into the DE's. Unfortunately, I really wasn't feeling well by the time I got to that point, and I lost my first DE to finish 5th. Oh well, at least I fenced well in the pools.
Saturday evening, I met Tom and Lisa for dinner (The Dish, yum!), and then we went bowling. I haven't been bowling in about 8 years, so I knew I'd do horribly. It was pretty fun though, and I actually bowled fairly well in the 2nd and third games. At 11 PM, they turned out the lights, and we did "extreme bowling". That was pretty cool.
Sunday, we had the saber tournament at the school. As sore as I was from the day before, I decided to fence in the women's event. There were seven of us, and I continued my women's saber winning streak by winning it. Yay! I had tons of fun with all the girls though.
Yesterday, I could barely move. It was worth it. :)
Tonight is Mary Kat beauty night at my house. One of the fencing mom's is a Mary Kay consultant, so she roped me into having a skin care class. I'm not complaining though. A free facial is definitely my idea of fun. Should be about 5 to 7 girls, giggling about girl stuff and the men in our lives. Maybe I'll take an "after beauty" photo to post here. ;)
I guess that's all for now. Leave comments so I feel loved!
